हिंदू धर्म भारतीय उपखंडातील सर्वात मोठा व महत्वाचा धर्म होय.^[१] हिन्दू स्वधर्माचा पारंपारिकरीत्या सनातन धर्म (सनातन धर्म) नावाने संबोधतात. संस्कृत भाषेत याचा अर्थ यार अर्थ “चिरन्तन/कायमचा मार्ग” असा होतो. ^[२] सर्वेश्वरवाद, अनेकेश्वरवाद, एकेश्वरवाद नास्तिकता – आदी सर्वरूपे या धर्मात एकत्रितपणे दिसतात.
