सखारोव्ह प्राइज फॉर फ्रीडम ऑफ थॉट, ज्याला सामान्यतः सखारोव्ह पुरस्कार म्हणून ओळखले जाते, हा मानद पुरस्कार आहे जोमानवी हक्क आणि विचार स्वातंत्र्याच्या रक्षणासाठी आपले जीवन समर्पित केले आहे त्यांना प्रदान केला जातो.[१] रशियन शास्त्रज्ञ व नोबेल शांतता पारितोषिक विजेते आंद्रेई सखारोव्ह यांच्या नावावरून हा पुरस्कार डिसेंबर १९८८ मध्ये युरोपियन संसदेने स्थापित केला होता. डिसेंबरमध्ये संसदेच्या स्ट्रासबर्ग हेमिसायकल (गोल चेंबर) येथे एका समारंभात पारितोषिक प्रदान केले जाते.[२] पुरस्कारामध्ये €५०,००० चा आर्थिक पुरस्काराचा समावेश आहे.[३]
