न्याहाळकाची सय Cache रिकामी करून पाहून खात्री करून घ्यावी. कारण मला आज तरी फायरफॉक्सवर व्यवस्थीत दिसते आहे. असा प्रॉब्लेम क्वचीत जाणवतो हे खरे पण नेमके केव्हा ते लक्षात येत नाही.इतर सदस्यांनी सुद्धा त्यांची ऑब्झर्वेशन्स नोंदवल्यास व्यवस्थीत खात्री करून गरजेनुसार बग नोंदवता येईल.

मिडियाविकी extension वाढवणे[संपादन]

मराठी विकिपीडियावर Module हे एक नामविश्व आहे याची कल्पना असेलच! हे नामविश्व वापरात येण्यासाठी Scribunto हे extension मिडियाविकित वाढवता येत असेल तर पहावे.

HotCat सूचना भाषांतरे[संपादन]

चावडी/प्रचालक निवेदन वरील चर्चा तांत्रिक चावडीकडे वर्ग केली.- दिनांक १८ मे २०१३.प्रचालकांकडून काय सहाय्य हवे ते कृ. नेमक्या शब्दात मांडावे.

Since we are using Commons version of HotCat, the default language for buttons, tooltips etc is English.
Please create translations on the mediawiki. (somehow, I am not able to translate that. Some प्रचालक might be able to create page there.

Please do not update commons:MediaWiki:Gadget-HotCat.js/mr. Instead create the localized messages in मिडियाविकी:Gadget-HotCat.js/local_defaults

Per Commons:

4.Write a local file "MediaWiki:Gadget-HotCat.js/local_defaults". In that file, modify the settings and messages in the HotCat object as appropriate. (Translate the messages into the wgContentLanguage of your wiki in that file.)

5.Optionally, write local files "MediaWiki:Gadget-HotCat.js/lang", where lang is some language code ("en" for English, "fr" for French, and so on). In those files, localize the messages, tooltips, and search engine names to the appropriate language for users having wgUserLanguage != wgContentLanguage

विशेष:सुविधा[संपादन]

जावास्क्रिप्ट आधारीत सुविधांचे तांत्रिक अंगाने सुरक्षाविषयक प्रगत परिक्षण करू शकेल इतपत तांत्रिक पाठबळ मराठीविकिंकडे नाही.पण दाक्षिणात्य विकिपीडियांकडे काही अंशी अशा स्वरूपाचे पाठबळ उपलब्ध असू शकते अथवा फ्रेंच अथवा जर्मन विकिपीडियाकडे सुद्धा तांत्रिक मनुष्यबळ उपलब्ध असू शकते आणि युरोपीयन युनियन सायबर सुरक्षेबाबत अधीक सजगही आहे. चांगल्या सुविधांची मराठी विकिंची गरज पहाता अशा जावास्क्रिप्ट आधारीत सुविधा ज्या इंग्रजी + जर्मन अथवा फ्रेंच+ एका दक्षिणात्य भाषेकडे असेल अशा तांत्रिक सुविधा मराठी विकिंवर आणाव्यात असा प्रस्ताव मांडून मी पुढाकार घेत आहे.

या मुळे सदस्यांना हव्या असलेल्या सुविधा उपलब्ध करून देण्यास गती देता येईल.

इंग्रजी + जर्मन अथवा फ्रेंच+ एका दक्षिणात्य भाषा या अटीत न बसणाऱ्या इतर तांत्रिक सुविधांबद्दलही वेगळे प्रस्ताव वेगळ्या विभागात मांडण्यास माझी हरकत नाही.इतर प्रचालक इतर प्रस्ताव विचारात घेऊ शकतील. या प्रस्तावाचा उद्देश किमान काही सुविधा वेगाने उपलब्ध करून देणे आहे.

Call for volunteering to report bugs for VisualEditor + Universal Language Selector input: Marathi, Hindi,Sanskrit,Nepali[संपादन]

Hello, While technically unicode input has been enabled in VisualEditor,It is long way to practically usable for indic languages.Since most developers would not be using Universal Language Selector input methods and would not be knowing indic languages such as Marathi and Hindi it would be defficult for them to understand problem areas.

Only few people doing effort is not enough.We need more volunteering.Please do take a lead to test Universale language input methods for indic languages in VE environment.Please report problems at en:Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback.For a while please do keep aside your individual aprehensions about Visual Editor and come forward to report problems. Your lead will benefit indic wikipedias.

पुनर्निर्देशन करताना लेख गाळणीने अडवला[संपादन]

मिडियाविकी:Gadgets-definition माध्यमातून सध्याच्या सिक्वेन्सने गॅजेट (सुविधा) लावण्यात एक किंवा अधिक गॅजेट लावताना केव्हा न केव्हा प्रॉब्लेम रिपीट होण्याची शक्यता आहे. मिडियाविकी:Gadgets-definition मधून सुविधा गॅजेट लावण्याचा परिणाम पूर्ण मराठी विकिपीडियावर (site wide) होणारच त्यामुळे केवळ धूळपाटी वरचे परिक्षण शक्य असणार नाही.मी नरसिकरजींच्या चर्चा पानावर म्हटल्या प्रमाणे मराठी विकिबुक्सवर वगैरे त्यांना प्रयोग करून पहाता येतील.

प्रथम दर्शनी दोन्ही र‍िकामी मधील 'र' अक्षर सारखे दिसत असले तरी ते वेगळे असण्याची शक्यता तपासून पहावी असे वाटते. आधीच्या वर्ग नाव सुद्धा टंकण्याचे काम संतोषजींनीच केले असेल तर मध्यंतरात त्यांनी टंकनपद्धत बदलली असल्यास शोध घेणे त्यांनाच सोपे जाईल. दुसरा मार्ग दोन्ही रंचे कॉप्प्पेस्टने वेगवेगळे शब्द बनवून कोणत्या शोधात कोणते शब्द येत नाहीत आणि त्या शब्दाचे टंकन कोणत्या पद्धतीतून झाले असण्याची शक्यता आहे या मार्गाने शोध घ्यावा लागेल.युनिकोड क्रमांकाचा फरक असण्याची काही शक्यता आहे का ते ही पडताळून पाहीलेले बरे असेल असे वाटते.

आपण वर्ग:र‍िकामी पाने मध्ये वापरलेले र‍ मी केवळ आपण टंकन केलेल्यातनच कट-कॉपी-पेस्टींगनेच वेगळे करतो आहे. मला आंतरजालावर इतरत्र स्वतंत्रपणे वापरलेले माझ्या गूगल शोधात मिळाले नाही.हे आपण टंकीत (टाईप) कोणती पद्धती वापरून केले ते कळाले तर कदाचीत मला अजून अभ्यासता येईल असे वाटते.

मराठी विकिस्रोत प्रकल्पात साचा साहाय्य हवे[संपादन]

मराठी विकिस्रोत प्रकल्पात सध्या अनुवादाचे काही काम चालू आहे. अनुवादीत करावयाचा/अथवा केलेला इतर भाषी मजकूर (दाखवा-लपवा) साचाने झाकलेला राहून त्या खाली मराठी अनुवादाचा स्वतंत्र विभाग देता येईल असा आराखडा आहे. मराठी विकिस्रोतवरील s:साचा:इतरभाषीउतारा हा दाखवा लपवा साचा मराठी विकिपीडियातील साचा:विषयांतर च्या धर्तीवर बनवण्याचा प्रयत्न केला यात खालील अडचणी येत आहेत. सध्या हा साचा विकिस्रोतवरील s:काय शिवाजी नॅशनल हिरो नाहीत ? या पानावर वापरला जात आहे.

१) साचातील मजकूर झाकला जाणे अभिप्रेत आहे तो सध्या झाकला जात नाहीए या दृष्टीने साचा सूधारणेत साहाय्य हवे आहे.

Hi, I came across one video clip for ULS help for Telugu language wikipedia as shown below. The clip is usefull but it does not show how to access help page. We will apreciate if some one helps us with simmiller clip for Marathi language.

मराठी ॲ बद्दल एक शंका[संपादन]

मी माझ्या लेखनात जेव्हा ॲ किंवा ऑ लिहीतो तेव्हा लेख सेव्ह केल्यानंतर तो जसा दिसणे अपेक्षित आहे तसा दिसत नाही. याचे काय कारण असावे? उदा. ॲरिस्टॉटल हा लेख पहावा. धन्यवाद.

@स्नेहल शेकटकर: तुमच्या सांगण्यावरुन तुम्हाला काय म्हणायचे आहे याचा निश्चित बोध मला झाला नाही. माझ्या अंदाजानुसार अॅ आणि आॅ लिहिल्यानंतर अ च्या डोक्यावर अर्धचंद्र व आ च्या डोक्यावर अर्धचंद्र न दिसता तो अर्धचंद्र जागा सोडून तुम्हाला दिसत असावा असा माझा कयास आहे. तुम्ही निर्देशित केलेले ॲरिस्टॉटल पानही पाहिले पण मला सर्व ठिकाणी अॅ जसा पाहिजे तसाच म्हणजे डोक्यावर अर्धचंद्र असलेला असाच दिसतो आहे. तुम्हाला कसा दिसतो याचा snapshot न्याहाळकाच्या नाव व आवृत्तीसह कळवल्यास तुम्हाला तो कसा दिसतो ते मला व इतरांना कळेल.

अॅ तुम्हाला वेगळा दिसत असल्यास त्याची दोन कारणे संभवतात

१. टंक - input method मधील टंक (तीन टंकातले वेगवेगळे तीन अॅ विकिपीडियावर माझ्या पाहण्यात आहेत ज्यांची दृश्यता सारखीच आहे पण तांत्रिक बाबतीत फरक आहे. वेगवेगळ्या सदस्यांनी साच्यात वापरलेल्या अॅ मुळे हा फरक माझ्या लक्षात आला. साच्यात वेगवेगळ्या टंकांचे अॅ वापरल्यामुळे साच्याच्या output वर फरक पडतो. cite संबंधित साच्यात त्यामुळेच मी या तीनही टंकांच्या अॅ चा समावेश केलेला आहे जेणेकरुन सदस्याने कोणताही टंक वापरला तरी cite संबंधित साच्याच्या output वर फरक पडत नाही.)

२. न्याहाळक - वेगवेगळ्या न्याहाळकांच्या वेगवेगळ्या आवृत्त्यांवरही अॅ च्या दृश्यतेवर फरक पडत असण्याची संभावना आहे. --संतोष दहिवळ (चर्चा) ११:४८, १६ जुलै २०१४ (IST)[reply]

माझ्याकडच्या आंतरजाल न्याहाळकाला अॅ शोधायला सांगून मी जो snapshot घेतला आहे त्या दुसर्या snapshotमध्ये न्याहाळकाने शोधलेले अॅ न्याहाळकानेच highlighted केलेले आहेत. न्याहाळकाच्या find boxमध्ये शोधण्यासाठी टाकलेला अॅ मी माझ्या टंकनप्रणालीत टंकीत करून टाकला होता. त्यामुळे न्याहाळकानेही मी टंकीत केलेले अॅच highlighted केले. सदस्य:स्नेहल शेकटकर यांची टंकनप्रणाली वेगळी असावी त्यामुळे त्यांनी टंकीत केलेल अॅ highlight झाले नसावेत. त्यामुळे माझ्या आणि सदस्य:स्नेहल शेकटकर यांच्या अॅचे character encoding वेगळे असावे हे निश्चित.

मी टंकनासाठी वापरलेली टंकनप्रणाली Microsoft Indic Language Input Tool 64-bit (Input Method Extension IME unicode)

विकिमीडिया कॉमन्स वर AjaxQuickDelete: नावाचे गॅजेट आहे जे संचिका वगळावयाच्या विनंती साठी फॉर्म उपलब्ध करते मुख्य म्हणजे एकाच संपादनात चित्रावर डिलीट साचा लागतो, डिलीशन डिस्कशनचे पान तयार होते संचिका चढवणाऱ्या सदस्याच्या चर्चापानावर तुमच्या वतीने सूचना पोहोचते, डिलीशन क्यू मध्ये नोंदणीही होते. अर्थात यासाठी विशेष js आणि css लागत असावी. अर्थात सुरक्षेच्या दृष्टीने तांत्रिक पार्श्वभूमिच्या मराठी व्यक्तीने ते तपासावे अथवा जर्मन अथवा फ्रेंच विकिपीडिया आणि दक्षिण भारतीय विकिपीडियावर वापरात असावे हा माझा आग्रह नेहमी प्रमाणे आहेच. माहितगार (-खुलं खुलं आभाळ तसा.. मीही खुला खुला.. दारं, खिडक्या, भिंती यांची.. सवय झाली तुला..? ) (चर्चा) १५:५३, १० मार्च २०१५ (IST)[reply]

आंतरविकि आयात सुविधा कार्यान्वित करणे प्रस्ताव[संपादन]

मराठी विकिपीडियावर प्रताधिकार स्थिती विषयक बहुतेक (अगदी महत्वाचेही) परवानासाचांची अनुपलब्धता असून commons:Commons:Copyright tags येथून ते आयात केले जाण्याची निकडीची गरज आहे. एका प्रतिपालकांनी सुचवील्या प्रमाणे साचे आणि साहाय्य पाने विकिमिडीया कॉमन्स, मेटा , हिंदी अथवा इंग्रजी विकिपिडियावरून आयात करणे प्रचालकांना सुलभ जावे म्हणून आंतरविकि आयात सुविधा कार्यान्वित करण्याबाबत प्रस्ताव मांडत आहे.

Content Translation beta feature is now available[संपादन]

Hello, Content Translation has now been enabled as an opt-in beta feature on the Marathi Wikipedia. To start translating:

Please enable the Beta feature in your preferences and check the box for Content Translation.
Visit the page Special:ContentTranslation or to your contributions page to open the tool.
Click on the blue button to create a new translation.
A dialog will be displayed. In the From section select the language of the original article and the article name and the language you would like to translate to. Also add the title of the new article (or the original title will be inserted) and click on Translate to begin. Your language preferences will be remembered for the next time.
You will see a screen consisting of three columns. The left column contains the text of the source language and the middle column is for the translated text. Using the right column you can perform several actions such as insert source text, remove the inserted text source text, add or remove links etc.
After you translate the article, you can publish it directly as a new page on the Marathi Wikipedia by using the publish button that appears. In case the article gets created by another user while you were translating, you will see an option to save the newly published translation under your user namespace.
The number of published pages can be seen on the Content Translation stats page.

Since, this is the first time we have installed the tool on this Wikipedia, there are chances that there may be some problems or service disruptions which we are not yet aware of. We will be monitoring the usage to check for any failures or issues, but please do let us know on the Content Translation talk page or through Phabricator if you spot any problems that prevent you from using the tool. For more information, please read the information available in the User Guide. You can also view a short screencast on how to use Content Translation. Hello. The VisualEditor team would like to inform you of a plan to redirect local pages for VisualEditor feedback to the board on mediawiki.org a few weeks from now. This applies to all the wikis where such pages are inactive or have low traffic, including yours. When this happens, editors will be free to use their own language to write on the mediawiki.org's page - although English is the most popular language there. Even feedback left from within VisualEditor with the built-in tool will be posted to the board on mediawiki.org.

Having all the feedback on a single, centralized place mainly means getting faster, more frequent replies and more attention from a higher number of people, including the people who are building the software. It also means chances are high, that editors will find that someone else has already written there about the issues or requests they wanted to post.

Maintaining a local page instead can be cumbersome: it needs to be checked frequently in case someone reports urgent issues. Old threads need to be archived from time to time. Off-topic comments should be removed to keep readability. Feedback left there is sometimes not easily understandable or actionable at all.

गेले १-२ दिवस मराठी विकिपीडियावरून हॉटकॅटची सुविधा नाहीशी झालेली दिसत आहे. कोणाला याचे कारण आणि परत आणण्यासाठीचा उपाय माहिती आहे का?

लघुदुवा[संपादन]

मराठी विकिपीडियावर आता प्रत्येक पानाचा लघुदुवा दिसत आहे. हे नक्कीच चांगले आहे परंतु सध्या हा दुवा पानाच्या वरील भागात दिसत आहे जेणेकरुन बरीच रियल एस्टेट वाया जात आहे. हा दुवा पानाखाली हलवावा असा प्रस्ताव मी मांडत आहे.

We think this will help us in being more effective while processing feedback from a larger pool of wikis, not just the biggest ones. Please read our previous announcement from late August for more information; we thought we would double-check that this community is informed and agrees with the change. Please notice that if at least one community member here expressly commits to taking care of the local page, the redirect will not be necessary at this time, though. If you'd like to step up and be that person, please let me know within one week: we'll need to establish a clear process as soon as possible so that this person knows when and how to escalate issues to Phabricator or to Community Liaisons, and can receive useful tips based on our experience.

अनेकदा विकिअकॅडेमी किंवा तत्सम कार्यक्रम राबवताना एकाच ठिकाणाहून (आयपी) अनेक सदस्य नवीन नोंदणी करतात. विकिमीडिया सॉफ्टवेरमध्ये आपोआप अशा कृतींना अवरोध करण्याची सोय आहे. एका तासात एकाच आयपीवरून जास्तीतजास्त ५, १०, १५ सदस्यच नोंदणी करू शकतील असा अडथळा तात्पुरता पार करण्यासाठी एखाद्या सदस्यास (सबळ कारणासाठी) तात्पुरता अधिकार दिला जाऊ शकतो ज्याने असे सदस्य इतरांसाठी एकाच आयपीवरून खाते तयार करता येतात. असे करताना कोणी कोणासाठी खाते तयार केले याची नोंद स्पष्ट असते.

मी पुढील सहा महिने नवीन सदस्य नोंदणी करण्याचा प्रयत्न करणार असल्याने याची गरज पडण्याची शक्यता आहे. त्यासाठी मी जुलैपर्यंत हा अधिकार मागितला होता. प्रचालकांस हा अधिकार आपोआप मिळतो.

माझ्या वाचनात आल्या प्रमाणे आपण भारता बाहेर आहात आणि मुख्यत्वाने मराठी विकिपीडिया साठी संपादन करणारे नवीन सदस्य हे महाराष्ट्रात मोठ्या प्रमाणात असतात (अभिनव वैगरे मोठ्या प्रमाणात अशी कामे करीत असतात ) मग आपण तिकडून इकडील शिकवण्यांसाठी पण ह्या अधिकाराचा वापर करून सुविधा पुरवणार कि तुम्ही तिकडे घेत असलेल्या संभावित काही शिकवणी वैगरे साठीच तो मर्यादित असणार.

प्रचालकांस हा अधिकार आपोआप मिळतो. - आपण प्रच्यालक आहात मग पुन्हा याची मागणी करण्याचे उव्चीत्य काय ?

माझा सध्याचा हा प्रकल्प भारताबाहेरील मराठी तसेच इतर भारतीय भाषा लिहिणाऱ्या-वाचणाऱ्यांवर केन्द्रित आहे. यातील काही मंडळींना विकिपीडियाशी ओळख करून देउन त्यांच्या स्वतःच्या (भारतीय) भाषेत संपादने करण्यास उद्युक्त करणे हा मुख्य उद्देश आहे.

र्‍य आणि ऱ्य बद्दल शंका[संपादन]

माझा मूळ प्रश्न: (सदस्य:ज यांना उद्देशून, सदस्य चर्चा:ज येथे पहा.) मी मराठी विकिपीडियाचा अक्षतरांतरण फाँट वापरतो. त्यात 'ऱ्या' टाईप करण्यासाठी rryaa असे कीबोर्डवर टाईप करावे लागते. नुसते ryaa टाईप केल्यास ते 'र्या' होते. हे 'ऱ्या' सगळ्या ब्राउजर मध्ये सारखे दिसते. तुम्ही अनेकदा मी टाईप केलेल्या 'ऱ्या' ला बदलले आहे. तुम्ही संपादित केलेले 'ऱ्या' मझ्या ब्राउजरमध्ये 'र् या' असे दिसते (मधली स्पेस वगळून) (मी उबूंटू ओएस आणि गूगल क्रोम वापरतो). पण तेच इतर (उदा. विंडोज मधील क्रोम) ठिकाणी बरोबर दिसते. मी टाईप केलेले 'ऱ्या' तुमच्या ब्राउजर मध्ये वेगळे (चुकीचे?) दिसते का? तुम्ही मराठी टाईप करण्यासाठी कोणता फाँट वापरता? --प्रथमेश ताम्हाणे (चर्चा) ०१:१४, ७ फेब्रुवारी २०१६ (IST)[reply]

माझ्याकडे विंडोज XP आणि बरहा फाँट्‌स आहेत. मी टंकलेखित केलेला र्‍या हा माझ्या संगणकाच्या पडद्यावर चंद्रकोरीला लावलेल्या या सारखा दिसतो, म्हणजे मराठीत जसा हवा आहे तसा. दुर्दैवाने मराठी सोडून अन्य भारतीय भाषांमध्ये र्‍या अक्षराची गरज पडत नाही. मराठीत ते अक्षर रा-कारान्त, री-कारान्त किंवा रे-कारान्त शब्दाचे अनेकवचन वा प्रत्ययापूर्वीचे सामान्य रूप करताना लागते. उदा० दोरा-दोर्‍या-दोर्‍याने सुरा-सुर्‍याने, खोरे-खोर्‍याने, बरा-बर्‍यापैकी, चोरी-चोर्‍या वगैरे. हे अक्षर अन्य भाषकांना लागत नसल्याने बहुतेक युनिकोड फाँट्‌समधे ते लिहायची सोय नसते. अशी आणखीही काही अक्षरे आहेत, की जी फक्त मराठीत आहेत. उदा० र्‍होडेशियातला र्‍ह, अॅटममधला अॅ, ड्यमधला पाऊण य, हविर्अन्‍न मधला र्अ, कुर्आनमधला र्आ, पुनर्उभारणीमधील र्उ, नैर्ऋत्यमधला र्ऋ, वगैरे वगैरे. देवनागरी फाँट्स बनवणार्‍याला मराठी लिपी माहीत नसते हे त्याचे मुख्य कारण

माहितगार यांचे र्‍य आणि ऱ्य पैकी अधिक बरोबर कोणता ? आणि का ? या विषयावरील मिसळपाववरील मजकूर वाचला. त्यावरून एक लक्षात आले की तीच ती अक्षरे प्रत्येकाच्या संगणकावर एकसमान दिसत नाहीत.

देवनागरी लिपीतल्या एखाद्या व्यंजनात ’ह’ मिसळला की ह-कारयुक्त व्यंजन तयार होते, ते जोडाक्षर असतेच असे नाही. उदा० ’क’मध्ये ’ह’ मिसळला की ’ख’ होतो, पण ’ख’ला जोडाक्षर समजत नाहीत. ज्या शब्दातल्या अक्षराचा उच्चार करताना आधीच्या अक्षरावर जोर येतो, तेच जोडाक्षर समजावे, असे काही व्याकरणकारांचे मत आहे. ’प्रखर’ हा शब्द उच्चारताना ’प्र’वर आघात होत नाही, त्यामुळे त्या शब्दातले ’ख’ हे अक्षर जोडाक्षर नाही. ’चक्र’ शब्द उच्चारताना ’च’वर आघात होतो, म्हणूनच क्र हे जोडाक्षर आहे. याच नियमाने खछठथफ आणि घझढधभ ही जोडाक्षरे नाहीत.

भारतीय भाषांपैकी बहुधा फक्त मराठीमध्ये, जोडाक्षरासारखी वाटणारी पण पूर्ण अर्थाने जोडाक्षरे नसणारी काही अक्षरे आहेत. एखाद्या व्यंजनाला य किंवा ह जोडला की ती अक्षरे बनतात. तुक्यातला क्य, जग्यातला ग्य, वाघ्यातला घ्य, गंप्यातला प्य वगैरे. तुक्या, जग्या, वाघ्या, सोप्या असले शब्द उच्चारताना अनुक्रमे तु, ज, वा, किंवा सो वर आघात होत नाहीत म्हणून या शब्दांतली ’य’ची जोडाक्षरे पूर्ण अर्थाने जोडाक्षरे नाहीत. त्याच कारणाने र्‍य (यकारयुक्त र), म्ह (हकारयुक्त म), न्ह (हकारयुक्त न), र्‍ह (हकारयुक्त र) ही जोडाक्षरे नाहीत. गनिमी काव्यातला व्या जोडाक्षर नाही पण शाहिरी काव्यातला व्या जोडाक्षर आहे. ब्राम्हणातला किंवा गाईम्हशीतला म्ह जोडाक्षर नाही, परंतु ब्राह्मणातला ह्म जोडाक्षर आहे. वाल्या कोळीतला ल्या जोडाक्षर नाही पण कल्याणमधला ल्या हे जोडाक्षर आहे. मराठी राजहंसमधले स जोडाक्षर नाही, पण हिंदी राजहंसमधला स हे जोडाक्षर आहे.

मराठीतली बहुतेक य-कारयुक्त आणि ह-कारयुक्त व्यंजने संगणकावर टाईप करता येतात, पण यकार किंवा हकारयुक्त र ही दोन अक्षरे योग्यप्रकारे टाईप करता येतीलच असे नाही; आणि टाईप केली तरी ती वाचणार्‍याला तशीच दिसतील असे नाही. या कारणासाठी मराठी लेखनासाठी प्रमाण ब्राउझर आणि प्रमाण टंक यांची गरज आहे. आज बाजारात असलेले ब्राउझर आणि टंक आदर्श नाहीत. .... ज (चर्चा) १५:१०, ९ फेब्रुवारी २०१६ (IST)[reply]

ऱ्य बरोबर आहे र्‍य नाही. अर्थात हे एकच अक्षर वेगवेगळ्या ब्राउजरमध्ये वेगवेगळे उमटणे हा तांत्रिक भाग झाला तरी सदस्य:ज यांनी म्हटल्याप्रमाणे हे अक्षर चंद्रकोरीला लावलेल्या या सारखे दिसणे अपेक्षित आहे आणि ते मराठीमध्ये बरोबर आहे असे माझेही मत आहे. बराहा सॉफ्टवेअरमध्ये टाईप केलेले र्‍य हे अक्षर माझ्या ब्राउजरमध्ये (उबुंटूमधील गूगल क्रोम) अपेक्षेप्रमाणे दिसत नाही. पण विकिपीडियाचा अक्षरांतरण किंवा गूगल इन्पुट टूल्स वापरून टाईप केलेले ऱ्य हे अक्षर माझ्याकडच्या दोनही विंडोज ८ व उबुंटू ओएसमधील सगळ्या ब्राउजरमध्ये (गूगल क्रोम व फायरफॉक्स) अपेक्षेप्रमाणे दिसते. -- प्रथमेश ताम्हाणे (चर्चा) ००:२३, १० फेब्रुवारी २०१६ (IST)[reply]

The visual editor is now enabled on this wiki[संपादन]

As per previous announcements earlier this year, the visual editor (यथादृश्यसंपादक) is now enabled here. It allows people to edit articles as if they were using a typical word processor. Here's a quick explanation of what has changed: you can find a more detailed one, with pictures, at mediawiki.org.

What's changing?: In the new system, you get a single edit tab which follows your preferences, and that therefore will launch the wikitext editor or the visual editor depending on which one you opened the last (माझा शेवटी वापरलेला संपादक लक्षात ठेवा).
This applies to everyone who edited recently, including anonymous users.
How do I switch to the other editor then?: Buttons on the toolbars of both editors were added months ago so that you can switch from one to the other every time you want to, without losing your changes and without having to save first.
The button, located on the right side of the toolbar, looks like square brackets ([[ ]]) in the visual editor, and like a pencil () in the wikitext editor.

Are there other options available?: Yes. You can choose whether you want:

How do I set my preference?

If you want to try or to stay in the new system: you don't need to do anything.
If you had explicitly disabled the visual editor in the past and want to keep it disabled: you don't need to do anything.
All the registered users have a dropdown menu in the Editing tab of their Preferences (संपादन --> संपादन पद्धती:), where they can choose from. This only needs to be done once. Don't forget to save ;)
- Users with the visual editor disabled need to re-enable it if they're interested in accessing that menu!
People who use the visual editor regularly will see a pop-up (only once after the single edit tab system is introduced), and they can choose their favorite setting there. Of course, they can change their mind at any time just like the others, and pick a different setting from their Preferences.
- Anonymous users who have used the visual editor recently will also be able to choose which editor they want to edit with.
- Reminder: all the users will always have the opportunity to switch to the other editor via buttons on the toolbars, for occasional edits.

Final remarks

Please spread the word about this major change in any way that you deem appropriate for this community, by linking to this announcement elsewhere, putting up a site notice, etc. Please note it will affect all the registered users at first, and next week it will reach logged-out contributors as well if no major technical issues have arisen. It is scheduled to be made active on this Wikipedia on September 14, 2016. This service can be used when translating Wikipedia articles into Marathi with Content Translation. Hello, machine translation support for Content Translation (beta feature) has now been extended and enabled for users of Marathi Wikipedia using Yandex. It can be used when translating Wikipedia articles into Marathi with Content Translation. Wikimedia Foundation’s Legal team and Yandex had collaborated earlier to work out an agreement that allows the use of Yandex.Translate without compromising Wikipedia’s policy of attribution of rights, privacy of our users and brand representation. Since November 2015, Yandex machine translation has been used for articles translated for Wikipedias in many languages. For more information, we request you to kindly take a look at the details about machine translation services in Content Translation and about Yandex translation services, including a summary of the legal contract. The Wikimedia Developer Summit is the annual meeting to push the evolution of MediaWiki and other technologies supporting the Wikimedia movement. The next edition will be held in San Francisco on January 9–11, 2017.

We welcome all Wikimedia technical contributors, third party developers, and users of MediaWiki and the Wikimedia APIs. We specifically want to increase the participation of volunteer developers and other contributors dealing with extensions, apps, tools, bots, gadgets, and templates.

Did you know?

Did you know that you can easily re-arrange columns and rows in the visual editor?

Select a cell in the column or row that you want to move. Click the arrow at the start of that row or column to open the dropdown menu (shown). Choose either "Move before" or "Move after" to move the column, or "Move above" or "Move below" to move the row.

You can read and help translate the user guide, which has more information about how to use the visual editor.

Since the last newsletter, the VisualEditor Team has mainly worked on a new wikitext editor. They have also released some small features and the new map editing tool. Their workboard is available in Phabricator. You can find links to the list of work finished each week at mw:VisualEditor/Weekly triage meetings. Their current priorities are fixing bugs, releasing the 2017 wikitext editor as a beta feature, and improving language support.

Recent changes[संपादन]

You can now set text as small or big.[१]
Invisible templates have been shown as a puzzle icon. Now, the name of the invisible template is displayed next to the puzzle icon.[२] A similar feature will display the first part of hidden HTML comments.[३]
Categories are displayed at the bottom of each page. If you click on the categories, the dialog for editing categories will open.[४]
At many wikis, you can now add maps to pages. Go to the Insert menu and choose the "Maps" item. The Discovery department is adding more features to this area, like geoshapes. You can read more at mediawiki.org.[५]
The "Save" button now says "Save page" when you create a page, and "Save changes" when you change an existing page.[६] In the future, the "जतन करा" button will say "पानाचे प्रकाशन करा". This will affect both the visual and wikitext editing systems. More information is available on Meta.
Image galleries now use a visual mode for editing. You can see thumbnails of the images, add new files, remove unwanted images, rearrange the images by dragging and dropping, and add captions for each image. Use the "Options" tab to set the gallery's display mode, image sizes, and add a title for the gallery.[७]

Future changes[संपादन]

The visual editor will be offered to all editors at the remaining 10 "Phase 6" Wikipedias during the next month. The developers want to know whether typing in your language feels natural in the visual editor. Please post your comments and the language(s) that you tested at the feedback thread on mediawiki.org. This will affect several languages, including Thai, Burmese and Aramaic.

The team is working on a modern wikitext editor. The 2017 wikitext editor will look like the visual editor and be able to use the citoid service and other modern tools. This new editing system may become available as a Beta Feature on desktop devices in October 2016. You can read about this project in a general status update on the Wikimedia mailing list.

Developer Wishlist Survey: propose your ideas[संपादन]

At the Wikimedia Developer Summit, we decided to organize a Developer Wishlist Survey, and here we go:

The Wikimedia technical community seeks input from developers for developers, to create a high-profile list of desired improvements. The scope of the survey includes the MediaWiki platform (core software, APIs, developer environment, enablers for extensions, gadgets, templates, bots, dumps), the Wikimedia server infrastructure, the contribution process, and documentation.

The best part: we want to have the results published by Wednesday, February 15. Yes, in a month, to have a higher chance to influence the Wikimedia Foundation annual plan FY 2017-18.

There's no time to lose. Propose your ideas before the end of January, either by pushing existing tasks in Phabricator or by creating new ones. You can find instructions on the wiki page. Questions and feedback are welcome especially on the related Talk page.

Developer Wishlist Survey: Vote for Proposals[संपादन]

Almost two weeks ago, the Technical Collaboration team invited proposals for the first edition of the Developer Wishlist survey!

We collected around 77 proposals that were marked as suitable for the developer wishlist and met the defined scope and criteria. These proposals fall into the following nine categories: Frontend, Backend, Code Contribution (Process, Guidelines), Extensions, Technical Debt, Developer Environment, Documentation, Tools (Phabricator, Gerrit) and Community Engagement.

Voting phase starts now and will run until February 14th, 23:59 UTC. Click here on a category and show support for the proposals you care for most. Use the 'Vote' and 'Endorse' buttons next to a proposal to do so.

What happens next?
Proposals that will gather most votes will be included in the final results which will be published on Wednesday, February 15th. These proposals will also be considered in the Wikimedia Foundation’s annual plan FY 2017-18 - SSethi_(WMF) (talk) 04:41, 6 February 2017 (UTC)

विकिपीडियावरील relief नकाशे[संपादन]

काही कारणास्तव मराठी विकिपीडियावरील साचा:Location map वापरणाऱ्या माहितीचौकटींमध्ये relief नकाशे दिसणे बंद झाले आहे. सगळीकडे रंग नसलेला कोणतीही वैशिष्ट्ये नसलेला सपाट नकाशा दिसतो. विभाग:Location map मध्ये केलेल्या अलीकडील काही बदलांमुळे असे झाले असावे. कृपया चुकीचे बदल उलटवावेत. उदा. ईगलनेस्ट अभयारण्य लेखामध्ये भारताचा नकाशा रंगीबेरंगी वैशिष्ट्यपूर्ण दिसत होता (लेखाच्या स्रोतामध्ये |relief=1 असे लिहिल्यावर तसा नकाशा दिसायला हवा). आता तो पांढरा कोणतीही वैशिष्ट्ये नसलेला दिसतो. मी त्या विभगात बदल करू शकत नाही. प्रचालकांनी योग्य तो बदल करावा.

New notification when a page is connected to Wikidata[संपादन]

The Wikidata development team is about to deploy a new feature on all Wikipedias. It is a new type of notification (via Echo, the notification system you see at the top right of your wiki when you are logged in), that will inform the creator of a page, when this page is connected to a Wikidata item.

You may know that Wikidata provides a centralized system for all the interwikilinks. When a new page is created, it should be connected to the corresponding Wikidata item, by modifying this Wikidata item. With this new notification, editors creating pages will be informed when another editor connects this page to Wikidata.

This feature will be deployed on May 30th on all the Wikipedias, excepting English, French and German. This feature will be disable by default for existing editors, and enabled by default for new editors.

This is the first step of the deployments, the Wikipedias and other Wikimedia projects will follow in the next months.

Improved search in deleted pages archive[संपादन]

During Wikimedia Hackathon 2016, the Discovery team worked on one of the items on the 2015 community wishlist, namely enabling searching the archive of deleted pages. This feature is now ready for production deployment, and will be enabled on all wikis, except Wikidata.

Right now, the feature is behind a feature flag - to use it on your wiki, please go to the Special:Undelete page, and add &fuzzy=1 to the URL, like this: https://test.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3AUndelete&fuzzy=1. Then search for the pages you're interested in. There should be more results than before, due to using ElasticSearch indexing (via the CirrusSearch extension).

We plan to enable this improved search by default on all wikis soon (around August 1, 2017). If you have any objections to this - please raise them with the Discovery team via email or on this announcement's discussion page. Like most Mediawiki configuration parameters, the functionality can be configured per wiki. Once the improved search becomes the default, you can still access the old mode using &fuzzy=0 in the URL, like this: https://test.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3AUndelete&fuzzy=0

Please note that since Special:Undelete is an admin-only feature, this search capability is also only accessible to wiki admins.

Improvements coming soon to Recent Changes[संपादन]

In short: starting on 26 September, New Filters for Edit Review (now in Beta) will become standard on Recent Changes. They provide an array of new tools and an improved interface. If you prefer the current page you will be able to opt out. Learn more about the New Filters.

What is this feature again?

This feature improves Special:RecentChanges and Special:RecentChangesLinked (and soon, Special:Watchlist – see below).

Based on a new design, it adds new features that ease vandalism tracking and support of newcomers:

Filtering - filter recent changes with easy-to-use and powerful filters combinations, including filtering by namespace or tagged edits.
Highlighting - add a colored background to the different changes you are monitoring. It helps quick identification of changes that matter to you.
Bookmarking to keep your favorite configurations of filters ready to be used.
Quality and Intent Filters - those filters use ORES predictions. They identify real vandalism or good faith intent contributions that need help. They are not available on all wikis.

Concerning RecentChanges

Starting on 26 September, New Filters for Edit Review will become standard on Recent Changes. We have decided to do this release because of a long and successful Beta test phase, positive feedback from various users and positive user testing.

Some features will remain as Beta features and will be added later. Learn more about those different features.

If your community has specific concerns about this deployment or internal discussion, it can request to have the deployment to their wikis delayed to October 1, if they have sensible, consistent with the project, actionable, realistic feedback to oppose (at the development team's appreciation).

You will also be able to opt-out this change in your preferences.

Concerning Watchlists

Starting on September 19, the Beta feature will have a new option. Watchlists will have all filters available now on the Beta Recent Changes improvements.

If you have already activated the Beta feature "⧼eri-rcfilters-beta-label⧽", you have no action to take. If you haven't activated the Beta feature "⧼eri-rcfilters-beta-label⧽" and you want to try the filters on Watchlists, please go to your Beta preferences on September 19.

How to be ready

Please share this announcement!

Do you use Gadgets that change things on your RecentChanges or Watchlist pages, or have you customized them with scripts or CSS? You may have to make some changes to your configuration. Despite the fact that we have tried to take most cases into consideration, some configurations may break. The Beta phase is a great opportunity to have a look at local scripts and gadgets: some of them may be replaced by native features from the Beta feature.

Localisation of templates is not supported I think for citoid? We have to make separate English and Marathi citation template for this to work orelse the whole source codes of citoid should be translated. As per current situation I don't find it working even when Narsikar has localized the code. Localization of templates is supported by citoid, citoid needs just matching of citoid arrays and local template data arrays, then citoid gives us the output in local arrays. thats what I understood after reading so much but, I don't have the technical knowledge to deploy the requiered files nor the authority to do so. I have contributed in translation of GUI, of citoid So got to know about it a bit from its documentation. And here we will have decide about the important fact that, whether we want to standardize our referencing tools or not? Importantly as our citation templates were never standardized and allied things were never done. Which we will have to do now, or else how long we can survive without forget about referencing tools like citoid but even proper citation template data? I am there with my friends to support on translation of documentation, and similar things, what I and my friends can't do is computational linguistic part of it. Lets list down all the tasks and get back to the phabricator task I started. Did you know?

Did you know that you can now use the visual diff tool on any page?

Sometimes, it is hard to see important changes in a wikitext diff. This screenshot of a wikitext diff (click to enlarge) shows that the paragraphs have been rearranged, but it does not highlight the removal of a word or the addition of a new sentence.

If you enable the Beta Feature for "⧼visualeditor-preference-visualdiffpage-label⧽", you will have a new option. It will give you a new box at the top of every diff page. This box will let you choose either diff system on any edit.

Click the toggle button to switch between visual and wikitext diffs.

In the visual diff, additions, removals, new links, and formatting changes will be highlighted. Other changes, such as changing the size of an image, are described in notes on the side.

This screenshot shows the same edit as the wikitext diff. The visual diff highlights the removal of one word and the addition of a new sentence.

You can read and help translate the user guide, which has more information about how to use the visual editor.

Since the last newsletter, the Editing Team has spent most of their time supporting the 2017 wikitext editor mode, which is available inside the visual editor as a Beta Feature, and improving the visual diff tool. Their work board is available in Phabricator. You can find links to the work finished each week at mw:VisualEditor/Weekly triage meetings. Their current priorities are fixing bugs, supporting the 2017 wikitext editor, and improving the visual diff tool.

Recent changes[संपादन]

The 2017 wikitext editor is available as a Beta Feature on desktop devices. It has the same toolbar as the visual editor and can use the citoid service and other modern tools. The team have been comparing the performance of different editing environments. They have studied how long it takes to open the page and start typing. The study uses data for more than one million edits during December and January. Some changes have been made to improve the speed of the 2017 wikitext editor and the visual editor. Recently, the 2017 wikitext editor opened fastest for most edits, and the 2010 WikiEditor was fastest for some edits. More information will be posted at mw:Contributors/Projects/Editing performance.
The visual diff tool was developed for the visual editor. It is now available to all users of the visual editor and the 2017 wikitext editor. When you review your changes, you can toggle between wikitext and visual diffs. You can also enable the new Beta Feature for "Visual diffs". The Beta Feature lets you use the visual diff tool to view other people's edits on page histories and Special:RecentChanges. [८]
Wikitext syntax highlighting is available as a Beta Feature for both the 2017 wikitext editor and the 2010 wikitext editor. [९]
The citoid service automatically translates URLs, DOIs, ISBNs, and PubMed id numbers into wikitext citation templates. It is very popular and useful to editors, although it can be a bit tricky to set up. Your wiki can have this service. Please read the instructions. You can ask the team to help you enable citoid at your wiki.

The ability to notify other users in edit summaries will be available later this week, on 15 March 2018. Other users can be notified if a link to their user page is provided in an edit summary. Some user-made gadgets and scripts that automatically put user names in edit summaries may need to be changed to put a colon in the link, such as [[:User:Example]]. You can change how you receive these mention notifications in your preferences. This feature was highly requested in the 2017 Community Wishlist survey, and feedback is welcome.

माहितीचौकट दुरुस्ती[संपादन]

अनेक गावांचे लेख सध्या लिहिले जात आहेत. उदा.पाबळ, केळद इ. माहितीचौकटीत क्षेत्रफळ(चौ.कि.मी.) समोर संख्या दिसायला हवी. 'एकूण' असण्याची गरज नाही. तसेच लोकसंख्या (२०११) समोर आकडा दिसावा. 'घनता' समोर संख्या/चौ.कि.मी. यायला हवे. ही दुरुस्ती तांत्रिक ज्ञान असणाऱ्या सदस्यांनी करावी ही विनंती.

ही एकच माहितीचौकट इतर भारतीय भाषांमध्ये वापरली जाते. यात इतरही महत्वाचे घटक आहेत. पिन, एसटीडी वगैरे. मराठीत काही दुरुस्ती हवी आहे, ती करणे शक्य आहे. चौकट बदलणे हा योग्य पर्याय नाही असे वाटते.

पिन, एसटीडी वगैरे {{माहितीचौकट भारतीय न्यायक्षेत्र}} यात पण टाकू शकते.सद्या या साचा ७०० पानांवर वापरले जात आहे. व {{Infobox settlement}} ६५ पानावर वापरले जाते. असे वेळी आपण infobox settlement याच्या ऐवजी माहितीचौकट भारतीय न्यायक्षेत्र वापरा. भविष्यात आपण टेम्पलेट विलीन करू शकतात --टायवीन२२४०^{माझ्याशी बोला} १२:४६, १७ मार्च २०१८ (IST)[reply]

@संतोष दहिवळ:, सदर साचा हा एकच आज्ञावली वापरून अनेक भाषांत गावांचे लेख तयार करण्यासाठी वापरला जातो.हा विकीडेटाशी सलग्न आहे. मराठी व इंग्रजी दोन्ही साचे उपलब्ध असावेत. ज्यांना जो सोयीचा आहे, तो वापरू शकतात. साच्यातील थोडीशी दुरुस्ती आपण करावी ही विनंती.

सद्या विभाग:Message box ४२२० पानावर वापरले जात आहे. हे विभाग {{mbox}}, {{ambox}}, {{cmbox}}, {{fmbox}}, {{imbox}}, {{ombox}}, आणि {{tmbox}} याला चालवते. हा विभाग चालायला मिडियाविकी:Common.css यात याची नोंद करायला हवे. त्याचे कोड मी विकित्रोत वर टाकला आणि तिथे ते चांगलेपणे दिसत आहे. असे मराठी विकिपीडियावर सुद्धा दिसावे म्हणून मी चावडीवर नोंद करत आहेत. याची नोंद phabricator वर सुद्धा केली आहे अधिक माहितीसाठी T191970 पहा. याची बदल या संदेशापासून २४ तासात होईल जर काही प्रश्न/सूचना/आक्षेप असल्यास खाली नोंद करावी--टायवीन२२४०^{माझ्याशी बोला} १३:३३, १६ एप्रिल २०१८ (IST)[reply]
