लायबर आॅफिस हे एक मुक्त व खुले स्रोत उपयोजन सॉफ्टवेर आहे. ओपनऑफिस.ऑर्गची ती नक्कल असून द डॉक्युमेंट फाउंडेशनने हे साॅफ्टवेअर विकसित केले आहे. ते मायक्रोसॉफ्ट ऑफिस व इतर अनेक उपयोजन सॉफ्टवेरांशी तुल्यबळ आहे.
लायबर आॅफिस हा एक संकरित शब्द असून त्याचा अर्थ 'मोफत ऑफिस' असा होतो. लायबर (Libre) या शब्दाचा अर्थ स्पॅनिश व फ्रेंचमध्ये मुक्त असा होतो.
जानेवारी २०११ (त्याची पहिली स्थिर आवृत्ती) आली. ऑक्टोबर २०११ दरम्यान लायबर आॅफिस ७५ लक्ष वेळा उतरवून घेण्यात आले. अनेक लिनक्स वितरणांमध्ये तो आधीच असतो. (जसे फेडोरा, लिनक्स मिंट, ओपनस्यूस, आणि उबुंटू).
लायबर आॅफिस हे मायक्रोसॉफ्ट विंडोज, मॅक ओएस एक्स टायगर किंवा नवीन, लिनक्स केर्नेल २.६.१८ किंवा नवीन यांवर चालू शकते. फ्रीबीएसडी, नेटबीएसडी व ओपनबीएसडी यांसाठीच्या आवृत्त्या योगदानकर्त्यांकडून सांभाळल्या जातात.

प्रारंभिक आवृत्ती[संपादन]
२८ सप्टेंबर २०१० रोजी ओपनऑफिस.ऑर्ग प्रकल्पाच्या अनेक सदस्यांनी एकत्र येऊन द डॉक्युमेंट फाऊंडेशन हा नवा संघ तयार केला. गो-ओओ प्रकल्प लिब्रेऑफिसमध्ये सामील काण्यात आला.
