नासाउ काउंटीची रचना १८९९ मध्ये झाली. या काउंटीला लाँग आयलंडचे जुने नाव दिलेले आहे. हे नाव इंग्लंडचा राजा तिसऱ्या विल्यमच्या नेदरलँड्सच्या नातेवाइकांचे आडनाव होते.[५]
