- विकिपीडियातील विकिपीडिया प्रकल्प आणि सहाय्य लेखांची नावे खूप लांब झाली आहेत, लिहिण्यात थोडी चूक झाली तर पान शोधणे आणि लक्षात ठेवणे कठीण जाते. इंग्रजी विकिपीडियात नामविश्व wikipedia: उपसर्ग शब्द पूर्ण लिहिण्या ऐवजी केवळ wp: लिहिले तरी जमते.
इंग्रजीतील shortcut शब्दास मराठीत लघुपथ शब्दाचा उपयोग करण्यास विकिपीडिया समुदायाचा पाटींबा मागतानाच मराठीतील विकिपीडिया नामविश्वाचे लघुरूप नाव विपी (विकिपीडिया शब्दाचे लघुरूप) असावे का विप्र (विकिपीडिया प्रकल्प शब्दाचे लघुरूप) असावे या बद्दल कौल हवा आहे. mw:Manual:$wgNamespaceAliases येथे उपलब्ध सहाय्य नुसार प्रचालकांनी लघुपथ सुरूवात करऊन देण्यास सहकार्य करावे.
सहमती झालेला अक्षर समुह साचा प्रमाणे महिरपी कंसात वापरला जाणार आहे.सहमती झालेल्या अक्षर समूहाच्या शीर्षकाचा दुसरा साचा बनवता येणार नाही याची कृपया नोंद घ्यावी.

Opting out of SWMT and Global Sysop Interference
Previously there was a Small Wiki Monitoring Team and further Meta introduced Global Sysop system, Since we at Marathi Wikipedia and Marathi Wiktionary has got sufficieant routin patrol from Marathi Wikipedians and also we have sufficient numbers of local sysops available.Earlier I did discuss this issue with User Abhay Natu to opt out of unnecessary involvement of Global Sysops , besides if any mistake happens from them , since they do not know local Marathi Wikipedia languge and localy agreed conventions, it is difficult to contact and prove certain aspects and would be time consuming for avarage marathi wikipedian who does not know what is meta and how it functions.Following is the discussion at meta and it seems we will need support vote here to opt out..Once we receive sufficient support vote we will communicate the same at meta:Talk:Global sysops/wiki set
- We at mr wiki community has been self sufficient in routin patrol of mr wiki and mr wiktionary,(We would still need meta support to controll only inter wiki spammsters ,as and when that happens), We still need support of steward/global sysop/SWMT at our sister projects namely mr wikibooks ,and mr wikiquote ,We wish steward/global sysop/SWMT team avoid edits at mr wiki and mr wiktionary other than those to control interwiki spammers. - Comment: Hi there! I just got a message on my meta userpage with a link to here and the request to opt out from global sysops system. I'll forward this request to the stewards to opt Wikipedia out. However, to opt out the Wiktionary, you need to hold an extra poll on Wiktionary. - I have now disabled global sysops on this wiki, however, wiktionary would have to discuss this on their own. Since it only has one active sysop on that wiki, I would not recommend that wiktionary disable global sysops. Laaknor ११:५३, १४ जुलै २०१० (UTC)

मराठी विकिपीडियाच्या प्रगतीसाठी आणि विस्तार-सिद्धतेसाठी काही नव्या मीडियाविकी एक्स्टेन्शनांची स्थापना (इन्स्टॉलेशन) करण्याचा प्रस्ताव इथे सुचवत आहे. या सुविधांमुळे आगामी काळातील वाढत्या व्यापात देखभाल करणे सुटसुटीत होईल. मराठी विकिपीडिया सदस्यांची बहुमताने संमती मिळाल्यास, मीडियाविकी पोर्टलावर या एक्स्टेन्शनांच्या स्थापनेसाठी विनंती अर्ज दाखल करता येईल. त्यामुळे कृपया खालील प्रत्येक प्रस्तावाखाली आपले समर्थन अथवा आ़क्षेप स्वतंत्रपणे नोंदवावेत.

गेल्या काही महिन्यंमध्ये मराठी विकिपीडियावरील लेखांत उत्पातकारक, अविश्वकोशीय, परभाषीय अथवा अश्लील मजकुराची भर टाकण्याचे/ संपादने करण्याचे प्रकार वाढत आहेत. ते प्रकार हुडकण्यात व निस्तरण्यात बराच वेळ खर्ची पडतो. अब्यूझ-फिल्टर एक्स्टेन्शनामुळे या प्रकारांना अटकाव करणारी स्वयंचलित व्यवस्था उभारता येते. कृपया कौल द्या. - अब्यूझ-फिल्टर एक्स्टेन्शन बसवल्यानंतर प्रचालक उत्पातरोधक फिल्टर, म्हणजे उत्पाताची विशिष्ट लक्षणे आपोआप ओळखू शकणारे नियम सेट करू शकतात, तसेच त्यावर काय उपाययोजना असावी/स्वयंचलित प्रतिसाद असावा तेही त्या-त्या फिल्टरात सेट करू शकतात. उदा.: एखाद्या अनामिक/नोंदणीकृत सदस्याने एखाद्या लेखातील सर्व मजकूर उडवायचा (= पान कोरे करायचा) प्रयत्न केल्यास, त्याला तसे संपादन जतन करता येऊ नये, अश्या स्वरूपाची स्वयंचलित प्रणाली असलेला फिल्टर बनवता येऊ शकेल. हे केवळ एकच उदाहरण झाले. अश्लील मजकूर व अन्य उत्पात ओळखू शकणारे स्वयंचलित लॉजिक व त्या-त्या उत्पाताला रोखायला चपखल असा प्रतिसाद एकेका फिल्टरात सेट करता येतो. या यंत्रणेचे चित्र अधिक स्पष्ट होण्याकरता इंग्लिश विकिपीडियावरील खालील काही दुवे जरूर बघावेत :

'अलीकडील बदल' हुडकून त्यातली सदोष संपादने, उत्पात शोधण्यात विकिपीडियावरील सक्रिय सदस्यांचा खर्ची पडणारा वेळ व मनुष्यबळ या नव्या एक्स्टेन्शनांमुळे वाचून तो अन्य चांगल्या कामांना (= सहाय्य पाने बनवणे इत्यादी :) ) लावता येईल.

सामान्यत: प्रचालकांना उपलब्ध असणारे अधिकार, उदा.: लेखांमधील सदोष/उत्पाती संपादने उलटवणे, उत्पातास अटकाव करणारे अब्यूझ-फिल्तर सांभाळणे, पाने उडवणे/चुकीने उडवलेली पाने पुन्हा जागी बसवणे इत्यादी, जर प्रचालक नसलेल्या अन्य अनुभवी, सक्रिय व स्वयंसेवक म्हणून काम करण्याची इच्छा असणार्र्या सदस्यांना मिळाले, तर व्यवस्थापन अधिक तत्परतेने व सहयोगाने करता येईल. सक्रिय प्रचालकांवर पडणार्र्या देखभालीच्या कामांचे ओझे काहीसे हलके होईल. ब्यूरोक्रॅट व प्रचालकांना या विशेषाधिकारी सदस्यगटांचे व्यवस्थापन करण्याचे अधिकार असतील. कृपया कौल द्या. डावीकडच्या पट्टीत पीडीएफ क्रिएटर सुविधा (PDF Creator in left side bar)
अन्य विकिपीडियांच्या पानांवरील डावीकडच्या पट्टीवर 'पीडीएफ क्रिएटर' सुविधा उपलब्ध आहे. या सुविधेमुळे आपल्याला एखादा लेख पीडीएफ (इंग्लिश: PDF) फॉरमॅटात साठवता येतो. साठवलेल्या पीडीएफ फायलीत विकिपीडिया पानाचा दुवा, संपादनकर्त्यांचे आयडी, लेखाची एकूण संपादने इत्यादी मेटाडेटाही अंतर्भूत असतो. उदाहरणादाखल इंग्लिश विकिपीडियावरील en:Scorpius या लेखाच्या डावीकडच्या पट्टीवरील print/export या पट्टीविभागांतर्गत 'Download as PDF' ह्या दुव्यावर टिचकी देऊन बघावी. काही सेकंदांनी बनवलेली पीडीएफ फाइल डाउनलोड करून घेण्यासाठी दुवा तयार झालेला दिसेल. ती पीडीएफ उघडून बघितल्यास या सुविधेचे स्वरूप व त्याचे उपयोजनमूल्य ध्यानी येईल. या सुविधेचा मराठी विकिपीडियाच्या प्रसारासाठी कल्पकतेने वापर होऊ शकतो. कृपया कौल द्या. संरक्षित पाने संपादण्यासाठी विश्वस्त सदस्यगट व ब्यूरोक्रॅटांस या सदस्यगटाचे व्यवस्थापन-अधिकार (Enable protected page editing acess to confirmed user and enable user group "editprotected", "editinterface" & "flood" and grant burecat to add/remove this group)
या सुविधेमुळे प्रचालकांखेरीज अन्य निर्वाचित विश्वस्त सदस्यांना (इंग्लिश: Confirmed user) संरक्षित पाने (उदा.: संरक्षित साचे, मुखपृष्ठ किंवा त्यांअंतर्गत चौकटी इत्यादी.) संपादण्याचे अधिकार मिळतील. मुखपष्ठ सदर, उदयोन्मुख लेख, दिनविशेष, 'हे आपल्याला माहीत आहे काय?' इत्यादी सदरे काही वेळा प्रचालकांच्या अनुपस्थितीमुळे तयार असूनही नियोजित वेळेपेक्षा उशीरा बदलली जातात. तसेच काही वेळा प्रचालकांपैकी काही जण कार्यबाहुल्यामुळे संरक्षित पानांवर दैनंदिन गस्त घालू शकत नाहीत. ही कामे प्रचालक नसलेल्या अन्य अनुभवी, जबाबदार, सक्रिय सदस्यांना करण्याचे अधिकार या एक्स्टेन्शनामुळे लाभतील. कृपया कौल द्या. - १. Number of protected pages is not large on w:mr at this time. Even as it increases, number of admins should/will increase, resulting in adequate oversight on such pages and request to change these pages.
- २. Even within the confirmed users, there have been many instances of misunderstandings, accusations/counter-accusations regarding changing sensitive information (e.g., दादोजी कोंडदेव) that compromised articles. Currently, a way to prevent edit-wars is to lock it down as protected for a while so tempers cool and/or mischievous users leave after becoming disinterested. Opening up protected pages would take away this convenience. This can be achieved with other means, this one being the easiest. Some of the protected pages are very sensitive in that even a small change can disrupt tens or hundreds of other pages/articles. These should be protected even more carefully.
- ३. If a user is "trusted" enough, we have, as a community, invited them to take on the sysadmin role. We do not have many "trusted" users that are not sysadmins. In the future, when we have a very large active user base (hundreds of active editors), this proposal/idea will come in handy. Until then, I believe opening up protected pages to confirmed users will give us more headaches than usefulness.
- ०. Having said that, I'd like to see more details and discussion around this idea. The idea in itself is excellent in that it frees sysadmins from policing everything at all times (among other things), but without details, it sounds dangerous at this time.
