या लेखाचे नाव 'आंकोर' असे हवे का?

देवनागरी लिपीत 'क' आणि 'ग' हे दोन्ही वर्ण 'कंठ्य' वर्णसमूहात मोडतात (क-ख-ग-घ-ङ). या वर्णसमूहातील अक्षरे एकमेकांना सहसा जोडली जात नाहीत.. कारण अशा जोडाक्षराचा उमटणारा ध्वनी जोडाक्षरातील शेवटच्या अक्षरासारखाच असतो. जसे, इथे 'आंग्कोर' लेखनाचा उच्चार 'आंकोर' असाच होतो. शिवाय, मराठी भाषेच्या देवनागरी लेखनपद्धतीत संस्कृताप्रमाणे कंठ्य/मूर्धन्य/तालव्य/दंत्य/ओष्ठ्य वर्णसमूहातील अनुनासिक वर्ण (पक्षी: ङ, ञ, ण, न, म) अनुस्वाराऐवजी जोडाक्षर म्हणून लिहिले जात नाहीत. त्यामुळे या शीर्षकाचे लेखन आंकोर वाट असे असावे असे वाटते.

Even I am confused with such pronunciations. First of all "Angkor" is a foreign word, more precisely it is a KHMER word. I do not understand whether we should apply Devnagari rules to these foreign words or Should we pronounce it as per international standards? I would like to know more on this issue too.

Khymer might have a one to one relationship with many alphabets in devnagri, if that is the case it migh be prudent to represent the words Angkor Wat in their more correct pronunciation. 129.118.7.93 ००:०४, १५ ऑगस्ट २००७ (UTC)

Many foreign words mispells native words. I saw in marathi, "Agkor wat" - अंकोर वट. Aniruddha Paranjpye
