क्वेकर पंथ

क्वेकर हे रिलिजियस सोसायटी ऑफ फ्रेंड्सशी तथा सोसायटी ऑफ फ्रेंड्स या ख्रिश्चन संघटनेचे सदस्य आहेत. क्वेकर हा ऐतिहासिकदृष्ट्या प्रोटेस्टंट ख्रिश्चन पंथांचा गट आहे. बायबलमधील जॉनच्या पुस्तकातील १५व्या अध्यायातील १४व्या श्लोकातून प्रेरणा घेत हे एकमेकांना मित्र म्हणून संबोधतात. या पंथाचे संस्थापक जॉर्ज फॉक्स यांनी त्यांच्यावर चाललेल्या एका खटल्यादरम्यान न्यायाधीशाला देवाच्या अधिकारासमोर (भीती किंवा आदराने) कांप (क्वेक) असे सांगितले होते. प्रत्येक मानवाच्या आत्मप्रकाशाद्वारे देवाची साक्ष सर्वांना देणे ही क्वेकर पंथाचे मुख्य ध्येय आहे. [२] [३] क्वेकरांमध्ये कोणीही धर्मगुरू होऊ शकतो. ही परंपरा पीटरच्या पहिल्या पत्रावर आधारित आहे.
