सर "चंद्रिकाप्रसाद श्रीवास्तव" उर्फ सी.पी. (जन्म : ०८ जुलै १९२० मृत्यू २२ जुलै २०१३ [१]) हे ब्रिटीशकालीन भारतीय प्रशासकीय सेवेतील उच्चाधिकारी, आंतरराष्ट्रीय व्यवस्थापक आणि राजदूत होते. ते लंडन येथे युनायटेड नेशन्स मॅरीटाईम ऑर्गनायझेशनचे सहसचिव होते. स्वातंत्र्यानंतर ते पंतप्रधान लालबहादूर शास्त्री यांचे स्वीय सचिव होते. कारकीर्द[संपादन]

भारताचे पंतप्रधान लालबहादुर शास्त्री यांच्या कारकिर्दीत श्रीवास्तव वाहतूक आणि दूरसंचार खात्याचे कॅबिनेट मंत्री आणि वाणिज्य आणि उद्योगमंत्री होते. १९६४ मध्ये त्यांचे सचिव झाले. शास्त्रींच्या मृत्यूनंतर ते शिपिंग कॉर्पोरेशन ऑफ इंडियाचे चेरमन आणि व्यवस्थापकीय संचालक झाले. निवृत्तीनंतर त्यांची युनायटेड नेशन्स मेरीटाईम ऑर्गनायझेशनचे महासचिव (सेक्रेटरी जनरल एमिरेट्‌स) म्हणून नियुक्ती करण्यात आली. अमेरिकेतर्फे या पदावर नेमणूक होणारे ते पहिले भारतीय आहेत. वर्ल्ड मॅरीटाईम ऑर्गनायझेशन युनिव्हर्सिटीचे ते संस्थापक कुलगुरू होते. वर्ल्ड मॅरीटाईम ऑर्गनायझेशनच्या पुढाकाराने त्यांनी १९८३ साली या विद्यापीठाची स्थापना केल होती.

श्रीवास्तव यांचा राणी एलिझाबेथ द्वितीय यांनी नाईटहूड किताब देऊन बहुमान केला होता. स्वीडन, नॉर्वे, आणि स्पेनच्या राजांतर्फे त्यांचा असाच सन्मान झाला होता. त्याच प्रमाणे जर्मनी, पोलंड, पोर्तुगाल, ब्राझील, अर्जेंटिना, इजिप्त आणि इतरही अनेक देशांनी त्यांचा सन्मान केला.[३][४] तीन सन्माननीय एल.एल.डी. त्यांना प्रदान करण्यात आल्या होत्या. [५]. ऑर्गनायझेशनने १९ ऑक्टोबर १९८९ रोजी त्यांच्या सन्मानार्थ APPRECIATION OF THE SERVICES TO THE ORGANIZATION OF MR. C.P. SRIVASTAVA या नावाने ठराव मंजूर करून त्यांना मानवंदना दिली.

सहज योगाच्या प्रवर्तक आणि साधिका निर्मला श्रीवास्तव यांच्याशी सीपींचा झाला होता. उभयतांना कल्पना आणि साधना या मुली आहेत.[६]

लेखन[संपादन]

निवृत्तीनंतर चंडिकाप्रसाद यांनी आपल्या या अनुभवावर आधारित Lal Bahadur Shastri : A Life of Truth in Politics हे पुस्तक लिहिले. लालबहादुर शास्त्रींवा ताश्कंद येथे मृत्यू झाला, तेंव्हा चंडिकाप्रसाद त्यांच्या बरोबर होते. शास्स्त्रींच्या पत्‍नाने आणि कुटुंवीयांनी आग्रह धरल्यामुळे चंडिकाप्रसाद यांनी पाच वर्षे संशोधन करून हे पुस्तक लिहिले.[७] या पुस्तकाची सुधारित आवृत्ती ऑक्सफर्ड युनिव्हर्सिटी प्रेसने २००६ साली Lal Bahadur Shastri, Prime Minister of India 1964-1966: A Life of Truth in Politics Birth centenary Edition नावाने प्रकाशित केली.[८]
